Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the PayeeKit iOS app, published by BrightBench LLC ("we," "us," "BrightBench"). By downloading or using PayeeKit, you agree to them.
Not advice of any kind
PayeeKit is a recordkeeping tool. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, or benefits advice. It does not tell you what Social Security, a court, or any other agency will accept, and it does not interpret your specific situation. Totals, countdowns, and warnings shown in the app describe records you entered. They are not a determination PayeeKit has made on your behalf.
PayeeKit does not file anything with the Social Security Administration, a court, or any other agency. Every document the app produces is for you to review, sign, and submit yourself, through whatever channel the relevant agency or court specifies.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy and completeness of everything you enter into PayeeKit.
- Determining what you are required to report, to whom, and by when.
- Actually filing any report, accounting, or document with Social Security, a court, or any other party. PayeeKit does not do this for you.
- Complying with the legal duties of your role as a representative payee or guardian, which exist independently of anything this app does or does not do.
Who may use PayeeKit
PayeeKit is licensed for individual, non-commercial use by a person acting as a representative payee or guardian for their own family member(s) or ward(s).
Organizations may not use PayeeKit to store beneficiary records. Agencies, facilities, fee-for-service payees, and any other organizational representative payee are outside PayeeKit's intended use and license. Social Security addresses organizational payees through its own separate accounting process. If you're evaluating PayeeKit for organizational use, please contact us first at support@payeekit.com.
PayeeKit Plus (subscriptions)
PayeeKit is free to use for one beneficiary, with the Annual Report Pack (PDF, CSV export, and Copy Totals) always free and unlimited. PayeeKit Plus removes the free-tier limits with unlimited beneficiaries, the guardian module, receipt text recognition, unlimited documents, and a spreadsheet of every transaction across every period. It is offered as:
- Monthly: $4.99 a month
- Annual: $29.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial
- Lifetime: $59.99, a one-time purchase that does not renew
All subscriptions and purchases are billed through your Apple Account via the App Store, subject to Apple's own terms. A subscription renews automatically at the listed price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription, and see when a free trial ends, at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. We do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds outside of Apple's own refund process.
If a subscription lapses, previously entered data is never deleted. The free-tier limits apply again from then on: the first beneficiary you added stays editable, and any others stay readable, with their Annual Report Pack, but can't be changed until PayeeKit Plus is active again.
No warranty
PayeeKit is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any total, calculation, or export will be accepted by any third party, including Social Security or a court.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrightBench will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, income, or benefits, arising from your use of or inability to use PayeeKit, including any consequence related to a benefits determination, an accounting report, or a court filing. Our total liability for any claim relating to PayeeKit will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. We may suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at any time; your own data remains exportable from your device up until that point, per the Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
